The Boilermaker will be using a sweep bus procedure to transport runners who are not able to finish the 15K race in the allotted time.

The 15K course will close in 2 hours and 45 minutes, which equates to a 16 minute mile pace.

There will be two sweep bus locations -- at the halfway point of the race located near the Utica Zoo entrance (at 9:30) and at the 10K location on York Street (at 9:55).  Birnie Bus will provide two air conditioned coaches to get the runners back to the Post Race Party.

The use of sweep buses or alternative methods are used in many endurance events.  This is the second year the race will use a sweep bus.

It's suggested that runners who feel they cannot finish the 15k race either drop down to the 5K or request a deferral to run the 15K next year.
