UPDATE: 08/0302015 4:11 pm- The fire at Noble Wood Shavings in the old Oneida Limited Factory building in Sherrill has been contained and no one was hurt.

City officials say at this time it looks like the feeder line will not need to be shut off and therefore Sherrill power will remain on.

UPDATE: 08/03/2015 3:13 pm- Sherrill officials say power may need to be shut off as part of the fire fighting efforts.

UPDATE: 08/03/2015 1:52pm  Additional manpower to fight the fire has been called in from throughout Oneida County.

Firefighters are actively fighting a blaze at the wood chip processing facility in Central New York.

Smoke has engulfed the building which houses Sherrill-based Noble Wood Shavings Company.

Noble Wood Shavings processes wood for use horse barns, and prides itself for being, according to its website, the "...only manufacturing facility dedicated to producing the absolute best quality bedding for the equine industry."

The company opened in the summer of 2011 with a loan from Mohawk Valley Edge:
