Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi says he's pleased the Cuomo administration has rejected hydrofracking in New York State for the foreseeable future, until more data on its possible health and environmental effects can be collected.

He say the most significant finding of the study is that hydrofracking on at least 63 percent of the land under consideration for it would pose significant health risks.

The Assemblyman also says the report shows the economic benefits of hydrofracking may be very limited.

Brindisi says this is a sound decision based on the many uncertainties hydrofracking could pose.
