Chadwicks Church beating defendant Bruce Leonard made his second brief appearance in Oneida County Court this week today -- still without an attorney.

Leonard met with an attorney for about an hour and-a-half this morning, but the attorney decided not to represent Leonard.

Judge Michael Dwyer told Leonard the court will continue working to find an attorney with the experience to take the case.  Leonard's former attorney, Donald Gerace, is unable to continue to represent him due to a death in Gerace's family.

Dwyer adjourned the proceedings and did not set another court date.

Leonard is facing charges, including second-degree murder and assault, in the beatings of his sons Lucas and Christopher Leonard during a counseling session at the Word of Life Church in October.
