Buffalo Zoo’s 24-Year-Old Giraffe May Be In ‘Final Days’

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Zoo says its 24-year-old giraffe, Agnes, is believed to be near death.

The zoo said in a news release Monday that the giraffe has advanced arthritis and other health issues that have not responded to treatment. The zoo says staff members are providing comfort and care in what they believe are her "final days."

The giraffe was born at the zoo in 1994 and lives there with one of her offspring, Zuri.
