The Utica man accused of murdering three family members last month has been found not competent to stand trial, and, for the time being, will be held in a psychiatric facility.

The finding comes from a pair of doctors who examined Paul Bumbolo, who will be treated for a year before being re-examined by medical professionals.

Bumbolo hasn't said much during his previous court appearances and in some instances seemed to be gazing at the ceiling in an incoherent state. However, he has appeared more aware of his surroundings in a last two appearances.

While appearing for arraignment last week, Bumbolo placed his hands over his face to avoid media cameras and shouted what sounded like a curse word while walking past television cameras.

In court today, he was again cognizant of the media but did saying something in the direction of his family: 'They won't let me call no one,' he said.
