Marcy, NY (WIBX) - Several business and governmental agencies are closed in aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

A notice on New Jersey Transit's website says it best, "Please be safe."  While many offices are open today there are rescue and repair efforts underway so use caution wherever your travels may bring you.

Tuesday, 30 October Closings:

  • ARC Oneida Lewis Chapter Lecture Series - cancelled 10/30 rescheduled for Tuesday, 11/06
  • Birnie Bingo Express (315) 225.1912 - cancelled
  • CABVI - Employees of the Central Industries Division do not need to report to work.  All other employees should report.
  • NASDAQ
  • New York Stock Exchange
  • Whitesboro Garbage Pickup cancelled for Tuesday and re-scheduled for Thursday
  • Utica Zoo is closed
TRAVEL ADVISORIES:
Albany International Airport: The airport is open but most flights are cancelled.
Amtrak: All services through the Northeast Corridor are cancelled.  All Acela Express, Northeast regional, Keystone, and Shuttle services are cancelled.  Empire Service, Adirondack, Auto Train, Capitol Limited, Crescent, Lake Shore Limited, Palmetto, Vermonter, Ethan Allen, Pennsylvanian, and Silver Meteor train services are suspended.  Amtrak service from Boston south to Raleigh, North Carolina and from the East Coast to Chicago, New Orleans, and Florida is suspended.
Centro: Regular service is expected to continue.
NJ Transit: Bus, Rail, Light Rail, and Access Link services are suspended.  Customers are urged to check njtransit.com for the latest information.
JFK International Airport is closed until further notice.
LaGuardia Airport is closed until further notice.
All MTA bus, subway, and commuter rails are closed.
