Central New York Couple Charged In Death Of Infant Daughter
CLAY, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities have charged a Syracuse-area couple in connection with the death of their infant daughter.
The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office says 40-year-old Brian Wilson of the town of Clay was charged Wednesday with manslaughter.
Wilson was initially charged with assault after 10-month old Faith died Nov. 12 at a Rochester hospital where she had undergone surgeries for a heart defect.
When Wilson and 28-year-old Stephanie Heppler brought the baby to the hospital five days earlier, doctors determined she suffered from severe hemorrhage to the brain and other injuries.
Police say Heppler was charged with endangering the welfare of a child for waiting a day before seeking medical help for her baby and joining Wilson in driving her to a Rochester hospital instead of a local one.
It couldn't be determined if Wilson or Heppler have lawyers.
