WARREN, N.Y. (AP) — State police in upstate New York say a three-vehicle crash has left two people dead.

Troopers say the crash occurred in the town of Warren in southern Herkimer County around noon Sunday. Police say 50-year-old Douglas Woolsey and his passenger, 46-year-old Theresa Woolsey, both of Brookfield, were travelling on U.S. Route 20 when their motorcycle rear-ended a van making a left turn.

Authorities say both Douglas and Theresa Woolsey were ejected from the motorcycle.

Police say the impact of the crash forced the van into the eastbound lane where it struck an SUV that overturned.

Theresa Woolsey died at the scene of the crash and Douglas Woolsey was taken to Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown where he was pronounced dead.

The drivers of the van and SUV were treated for injuries that aren't life-threatening.
