Chris Young was cruising along on Wednesday afternoon at Citi Field taking 2-0 lead to the seventh, but a single and back-to-back home runs turned the Mets' Independence Day victory into a disappointing 9-2 loss to the Phillies.

Young (2-2) yielded a lead off single in the seventh to Juan Pierre, ahead of Chase Utley's line drive that soared over the right field wall. Carlos Ruiz followed that up with a solo-shot, turning the 2-0 Mets lead into a 3-2 deficit. The Phillies tacked on three more runs in the eighth and ninth innings to make a winner of Cliff Lee for the first time all season in what was his final start before the All-Star break.

Lee (1-5) gave up two runs through eight innings -a Scott Hairston solo homer in the fourth and David Wright's RBI single in the fifth.

Jimmie Rollins, Utley, Ruiz and Ty Wiggington all drove in a pair for the Phillies, who snapped a six game losing streak.
