Utica, NY (WIBX) - A motorcycle ride honoring the memory of a fallen Utica Police Officer is about to get off the ground. The "Brothers Forever Ride" supports the Thomas Lindsey Foundation program targeting local at risk youths.

Officer Thomas Lindsey was shot and killed in 2007, while conducting a traffic stop in Utica. The 100-mile course stars at 10:30 a.m. on August 4, at City Hall in Utica, and travels around Oneida Lake and ends at the West End Brewery. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m.

A post ride celebration is planned, with performance by the band "Simple Props". Other events and a prize give away are also planned. Those not taking part in the ride can still attend the festivities with a $5 fee. To learn more about the memorial event or to register, click here. To contact organizers, call (315) 735-3301.
