After falling to the defending Calder Cup Champion Toronto Marlies 7-3  to open the season Friday night, the Utica Comets bounced back with a 3-1 win over the Belleville Senators at the Adirondack Bank Center.

Brandan Gaunce pulled the Comets even at 1-1 against Belleville just 10 second after the Senators took a 1-0 lead in the second period. Reid Boucher would give the Comets a 2-1 advantage with under a minute to play in the second - his second power play goal in as many games, and third score of the season.

Darren Archibald scored an empty netter in the closing seconds.

Ex-Comet Joseph LaBate scored the Sens lone goal.

Richard Bachman made 31 saves on Saturday night after after allowing 6 goals on 38 shots faced Friday.

Utica (1-1) is back home on Friday night hosting Charlotte. They'll play in Toronto next Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
