The Utica Comets' 4-3 victory in Binghamton Sunday night wrapped up a winning weekend that saw Utica win two of three. More importantly, Sunday's 'W' secured the North Division's fourth and final playoff spot for the Comets.

And a winning weekend is just what the Comets ordered. Since an unstoppable 16-game point streak that stretched for six weeks in January and most of February, Utica dropped nine of its next ten, giving away all the ground they'd gained in the North Division standings.

The Comets had climbed as high as second in the North but have slipped back to fourth. While they currently hold North's four-seed, they could advance. Winners in three of their last four contests, Utica is two points in back of Rochester, who they'll visit on Wednesday night.

The Comets will return home to the Adirondack Bank Center on Friday to host Hersey, then play Saturday night on the road at Springfield.
