Comets Fall in Home Opener

The Utica Comets came up short in their home opener at the Adirondack Bank Center on Wednesday night, falling in a shootout to the Rochester Americans by a 4-3 final.

The Amerks Eric Cornel scored the game deciding goal in the eighth round of the shootout to notch the win for Rochester. Utica earns a point for the shootout defeat.

The Comets goals were scored by Michael Chaput, Darren Archibald and Alexis D'Aoust.

Utica (4-3-0-1) is back home again for two games this weekend. They'll host the Binghamton Devils Friday night and Rochester again on Saturday. Game time both nights is 7:00.
