Following earlier news that Victor Cruz was 'convinced' he'd be ready to return when the Giants visit the Bills this weekend came his first effort at a full practice, and a reality check.

WFAN radio in New York City was reporting Wednesday afternoon that Cruz went through drills earlier in the day in his first attempt at a full practice and had to 'shut it down' because of the injured calf that's kept him off the field this season.

It was reported by several outlets this week, as well, that Big Blue held a workout/informal tryout for ex-Giant Hakeem Nicks, and former Patriots and Broncos WR Wes Welker. It now appears more likely that they'd sign one of the two to add some depth to their roster.
