Cuomo Calls On Senate To Postpone A Vote on Supreme Court Nominee
Governor Andrew Cuomo is calling on the Senate to postpone a vote on Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh until allegations against him are fully investigated.
Cuomo has issued the following statement regarding Kavanaugh's nomination:
"The allegations of sexual assault against Judge Kavanaugh are disturbing and deeply concerning. Judge Kavanaugh is being considered for a lifelong appointment to the highest court in the land, and we owe it to Dr. Ford and to the American people to fully investigate these allegations - our democracy demands nothing less.
"This is not just about a Supreme Court appointment, it's about justice in the deepest sense."
"Americans deserve the facts. Senate Republicans must not rush through the nomination process because of their own political calendar and they must not put party above nation.
"The American people will not stand for it - they will not stay silent - and we in New York won't either. I call on the Senate to postpone any vote until the allegations against Judge Kavanaugh are fully investigated."
