Cuomo, Kudlow To Discuss Federal Tax Overhaul’s NY Impact

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is meeting with one of President Donald Trump's top economic advisers to discuss his concerns about the 2017 federal tax overhaul.

The 2017 tax changes capped a popular deduction for state and local taxes at $10,000, sharply increasing the tax bills for many New Yorkers. Cuomo, a Democrat, says the cap puts New York at a competitive disadvantage and must be repealed.

On Thursday he will meet with Larry Kudlow, director of the White House's National Economic Council.

The meeting comes after Cuomo voiced concerns to the Republican president during a White House meeting last month.

At the time, Trump said he had heard about the negative impact of the tax overhaul in New York but didn't say whether he would consider changes.
