Utica, NY (WIBX) - Saying that "public service is in (his) blood" and quoting inspiration from retiring U.S. Representative Maurice "Moe" Hinchey, Dan Lamb used the picturesque backdrop of Liberty Park in Utica to announce his candidacy for the 22nd Congressional District seat now occupied by Congressman Richard Hanna.

With a few local Democratic officials in attendance, the announcement was made in front of a small crowd, some holding "Dan Lamb for Congress" signs as busses and passers-by caused Lamb to pause during the speech.

While he noted Hanna's accomplishments he was quick to point out how he differs from the incumbent.

Utica marked the second of three stops that the candidate was making today to officially announce his candidacy.
