Representative Tenney to Make Re-Election Campaign Official
Congresswoman Claudia Tenney (R-NY22) will officially announce her re-election campaign on Saturday, March 3rd, according to supporters who are distributing invites to two upcoming campaign events.
Tenney will hold two rallies to kick off her campaign. The first will be at her campaign headquarters in New Hartford on Saturday, March 3rd between 2 and 4 p.m.; the second will be held on Sunday, Match 4th from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Binghamton. According to details in the flyer, Tenney is holding two rallies because of the large size of the district. Supporters are requested to RSVP via an email address included in the flyer.
Utica Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi (D-NY119) announced his bid for Tenney's congressional seat in June of last year. Tenney is in her first term after being elected in 2016, after Republican Congressman Richard Hanna retired.
The 22nd Congressional District in Upstate New York includes Oneida, Herkimer and Madison counties, as well as Chenango, Cortland, Broome, Tioga and Oswego counties. Ballotpedia has identified NY-22 as a race to watch. The Cook Political Report is calling the Tenney-Brindisi race a toss up, meaning either party has a chance to win. WIBX has reached out to Congresswoman Tenney and is awaiting a response.
