The former Speaker of the House is headed to prison.

A federal judge in Chicago has sentenced Dennis Hastert to 15 months behind bars for making illegal bank withdrawals.

The 74-year-old Hastert will also get two years of supervised release and must pay a $250,000 fine.

Hastert had pleaded guilty to the withdrawals, which he made to cover up sex abuse accusations.  He's accused of paying nearly $2 million in hush money to cover up sexual abuse he committed decades ago while he was a high school wresting coach

During his sentencing hearing, Hastert admitted to sexually abusing members of the wresting team and apologized for mistreating the boys.

While handing down the sentence, Judge Thomas Durkin called the former Speaker "a serial child molester."

The judge also ordered Hastert to undergo sex-offender treatment.
