Empire State Shooting Gunman Named

New York, NY (WIBX) - The gunman in the shooting is now being identified as Jeffrey Johnson.

Johnson, let go just about a year ago from his job at Hazan Imports in Manhattan, was a designer of women's accessories.  It is now reported that he was in his fifties.

The gunman is alleged to have used a .45 caliber pistol.  The identity of the 41-year old victim, said to be a former co-worker, has not yet been released.  The other individuals injured are said to have gotten caught in the crossfire between the gunman and police and are expected to recover from their injuries.

Police and fire department officials say that they began receiving calls about the shooting at around 9:00am.
