FAA Strikes Down Wind Turbines
The Federal Aviation Administration has struck down proposed industrial wind turbines for the Town of Litchfield.
The FAA says the structures would present a hazard to air traffic safety.
Ridgeline Energy wants to build industrial wind turbines that are 492-feet tall and has filed 11 proposals for them with the FAA.
But the agency says the height for any such structure would be limited to 85-feet.
The Town of Litchfield has a law banning industrial wind turbines, but Ridgeline Energy is asking the state Public Service Commission to override that law.
