One of Utica's favorite Comets has been signed to another year. The AHL team has announced the return of Forward Darren Archibald for the 2017-18 season.

Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations, Pat Conacher, made the announcement on Tuesday that the 27-year-old will return for his fifth season. He has been with Utica since the team's inaugural season in 2013.

Archibald set a precedent last year scoring a single-season record 23 goals. His career total with the Comets in points scored is 112. Archibald also knows how to pump up the crowd with his attitude on the ice. He has accumulated a total 363 penalty minutes in 256 games.

Archibald was the only Comet to play in every game last season while leading the team with five game winning goals. In addition, he tallied a career-high in power play goals with six. Three of his game winners were in overtime. Utica is lucky to have this powerhouse on the squad for another season.
