An accident on a farm has claimed the life of a Wayne County man.

The accident occurred on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at approximately 8:15am at a farm located at 5272 Brick Schoolhouse Road in Rose, New York.

According to a written release from New York State Police 31-year-old William Lotz was working with a Case Model 1840 Skid Steer, loading hay into a feeder rack.  It is believed that Lotz got off of the vehicle and walked under the loader to remove the hay when it dropped down, pinning him.

Lotz's was set free by his wife.  Life-saving measures were attempted by emergency medical personnel who were called to the scene.  Lotz was pronounced dead at the scene by Wayne County Coroner Dr. David Hannan.
