Firefighters braved freezing water, slush, ice and extreme temperatures to rescue three dogs from the Indian River in Theresa, New York.

The dogs fell through the ice Tuesday, February 9th. The Theresa and Philadelphia Fire Departments responded, risking their lives to bring the dogs safely to shore.

Rescue workers suffered from extreme exhaustion and cold but all were okay.

Two dog were returned to their owners. The third dog is at the Jefferson County SPCA and a few people have already inquired about adopting him if the owner isn't found.

Thank you to everyone who helped rescue all three dogs despite extreme conditions.
