More than thirty thousand pounds of gluten-free breaded chicken products that may have been contaminated with staph bacteria.

The recall affects Bell & Evans 12-ounce boxes of Gluten-Free Chicken Breast Nuggets and 10.5-ounce boxes of Gluten Free Chicken Breast with a "best by" date of August 9, 2015.  The affected products include the establishment number: P-516.

The products were shipped to stores throughout the country by the Murry's food company based in Lebanon, Pennsylvania.

A sample tested positive for the Staphylococcus aureus bacteria.  Staphylococcus aureus, commonly referred to simply as "staph," is a common bacteria found on the skin and noses of healthy people.  It can cause as many as seven different toxins that can cause food poisoning.  Symptoms - which include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and diarrhea - may occur as soon as thirty minutes after a person is exposed.

The United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) says there have been no reports of illness associated with the chicken so far.
