Griffo Bill To Protect Military Familes Signed Into Law

Albany, NY (WIBX) - A bill sponsored by Senator Joe Griffo to protect grieving military families has been signed into law by Governor Cuomo.The law establishes a 300-foot buffer zone for any military funeral, wake, burial or procession.

Protesters will have to secure a permit, post a public security bond and agree to refrain from coming within 300-feet of the services.

Griffo says the legislation balances the free expression that is part of our society with the responsibility we have to respect the families of those who have given their lives in the name of these freedoms.
