Congressman Richard Hanna is introducing a bill that would re-establish state infrastructure banks to help fund local transportation projects.

He made the announcement at Utica City Hall.

Hanna says with deteriorating roads, bridges and ports across the natio,  the bill would ensure that local infrastructure projects get the critcal funding they need.

Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri says the legislation can provide more options for cities like Utica.

The bi-partisan legislation is part of the federal highway bill now being negotiated in Congress.
