A bill co-sponsored by Congressman Richard Hanna would streamline the Army Corp of Engineers permitting process for site development at the Marcy Nano site and elsewhere across the United States.

Under the bill, the lack of a committed end-user would not be a reason to deny a permit that meets all other requirements.

Mohawk Valley EDGE has been denied a permit by the Army Corp of Engineers because it doesn't have an end-user for a proposed nanotechnology project on the SUNY IT campus.

Hanna says economic development officials in Henry County, Virginia are experiencing the same problem.
