Herkimer Police Conduct Alcohol Compliance Check

The Herkimer Police Department conducted an alcohol compliance detail in the village last week.

Officers sent a teenager into ten stores and had him try to buy alcohol.

Police say no sales were made to the teen at any of the locations.

Stores found to be in compliance were:

• Carney's Corners
• Fastrac
• Hannaford's
• Nice N Easy (State St)
• Nice N Easy (Mohawk St)
• Sam's Deli
• Valley Wine and Liquors
• Rite Aid
• Stewart's
• Walmart

Herkimer Police Chief Mike Jory says 100 percent compliance was their goal and they'll continue to conduct the details throughout the year.
