One lucky high school junior or senior in Oneida County will have the opportunity to work alongside County Executive Anthony Picente this summer.

The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties is offering a full-time summer internship through the Give Back to Utica fund, started by Steven Oram, a former intern and attorney in Washington D.C.

The student will attend County Board of Legislature meetings, learn about public and government communication and see the funding process firsthand. Picente says he is glad to offer students a chance to get their first taste of political life.

"One of the greatest resources of our community is the abundance of bright, talented young people who want to make their mark in the world," PIcente said.

To apply for the internship, visit FoundationHOC.org. Application essays must be in by May 3rd.
