Jacon To Seek Re-Election To Utica Common Council

Incumbent 3rd Ward Councilman John Jacon is seeking a second two-year term on the Utica Common Council.

Jacon is Vice Chair of the Public Works-Transportation Committee.

He's a member of several other committees, including Economic Development and Government Relations  & IT Advancement.

Jacon, a Democrat, represents South Utica.

Jacon said: " It has been my great honor to represent the people of South Utica on the Common Council. During my term we stregthened public safety by adding to the complement of the Utica Fire Department, and helped lead the charge to increase paving throughout the City. I renew my pledge to be a strong fiscal watchdog while preserving the services our residents expect and deserve. Proposals like the hospital relocation and the U District require careful consideration to ensure decisions are made in the best interest of our City, and I have proven to be an independent voice willing to ask the unpopular questions."
