Level 3 Sex Offender Arrested In Rome

A registered Level 3 sex offender has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual contact with a child under the age of 14 in Rome earlier this week.

Officials with the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center say 58-year old David DeGroat, Jr, was charged with sexual abuse, endangering the welfare of a child and failure to register a change of address.

The case has been turned over to the District Attorney's Office for grand jury consideration.
