Local Red Cross Chapter Aids Family of 6 Following House Fire in Rome

A family of six has been displaced following a house fire Sunday night on West Thomas Street in Rome.

Volunteers from the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross came to their aid, providing financial assistance for shelter, food and clothing.

Two adults and four children, ages 6, 8, 16 and 17 were impacted by the blaze, but no injuries were reported.

Red Cross volunteers also offered emotional support and comfort kits. They will continue to be available in the coming days as needed.
