The City of Utica is mourning the death of a longtime City employee.

Mike Fanelli, a 44-year employee of the City of Utica's sign shop, passed away over the weekend after a battle with cancer.

Mayor Robert Palmieri says Mike was a talented and hardworking employee, but most importantly, a great person.

Palmieri says Fanelli will be missed by his family, co-workers and the entire Utica community.

In honor of MIke's service to Utica, Palmieri says flags will be flown at half-staff at all City facilities until Friday, February 2nd.
