Madison County Sheriff’s Department Investigate Fire

Stockbridge, NY (WIBX) - The Madison County Sheriff’s Department and the Madison County Cause and Origin Team are investigating a suspicious structure fire that occurred at about 11:30 Friday night in the Town of Stockbridge.

According to officials, When fire crews arrived the structure, located on the corner of Stockbridge Hill Road and Bishop Road was fully involved.

The house has been vacant for several years and information obtained during the initial on-scene investigation indicated that a group of youths were in the area of the fire at the time of the fire.

Anyone in the area between the hours of 10 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Friday night that might have seen anything suspicious or may have information regarding the fire is asked to contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Department at (315) 366-2311.

Fire crews from Munnsville, Smithfield, Lincoln and Morrisville all responded to battle the blaze.
