NEW YORK (AP) — Police say a 54-year-old man is expected to survive after he was pushed onto subway tracks and struck by a train following a drunken argument in Manhattan's Chelsea section.

Mike Allison was hit by a northbound 1 train at the 18th Street subway station shortly before 7:20 a.m. Sunday. Officers found him pinned underneath the conductor's car after arriving to the scene.

Police say Allison told officers he couldn't remember whether he was pushed onto the tracks or fell himself.

A friend of Allison's told police that an unidentified third member of the group had pushed him. Police say all three men were "highly intoxicated."

One man was taken into custody at the scene. No charges have been filed in connection with the incident as of Sunday night.
