Utica Councilman and Mayoral candidate Joe Marino is taking issue with the infrastructure improvement plan laid out earlier this week by Mayor Robert Palmieri.

He says the five point plan, which includes patching, paving, parking, pathways and partners, are old recycled ideas that are not his own.

Marino says that includes a three-year old street paving plan that was approved by taxpayers.  Marino says the Mayor actually vetoed the legislation.

He says the Mayor waited until an election year to address issues like paving.

Marino will face Palmieri in the June 25th Democratic Primary.

In a written statement, the Mayor's Office says it will not respond to Marino's claims.
