The former Trenton Town Supervisor convicted on a sexual abuse charge in May of 2013 will get a new trial.

Mark Scheidelman was found guilty of inappropriately touching a ten-year old boy at his home in Barneveld in November of 2012.

He was sentenced to two years in prison.

Now, a state Appellate Court has ruled that Scheidelman didn't get a fair trial because of prosecutorial misconduct.

That includes eliciting inadmissible evidence, conducting an improper cross-examination of the defendant, and making improper comments during summation.

You can read the full decision on the New York State Appellate Court website.
