The Mets got three hits from Justin Turner and two from John Buck, including a solo homer in the ninth to account for the team's lone run.

Jedd Gyorko had a RBI double for the Padres, who scored what turned out to be the game winning run on a wild pitch by Jeurys Familia in the eighth inning.

Huston Street allowed the homer to Buck, but held on for the save.

The Mets (2-1) host the Marlins on Friday afternoon.
