Fifteen-year MLB veteran infielder Juan Uribe could be on Terry Collins' roster when the Mets open Game 1 of the Fall Classic with Royals in Kansas City on Tuesday.

Even if he's not, Uribe (chest) is traveling with the team and will be in the dugout and clubhouse, Collins says. Uribe has been injured since the last week of September, after having filled in at third base and in pinch hitting roles since being acquired just before the trade deadline. He's the only Mets player with World Series experience, having won rings with the White Sox and Giants.

The official World Series rosters for each team are due by 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.

There is speculation that Uribe could serve as the Mets' designated hitter when the teams play under American League rules in Kansas City. Otherwise, Collins would likely tap Michael Cuddyer (1 for 8 this postseaon), or Kelly Johnson (1-6 this postseason) for the role.
