Utica Comptroller Bill Morehouse says after consulting with his family and supporters, he will seek re-election in November.

Morehouse was elected comptroller in 2014.

He says while tremendous progress has been made in strengthening Utica's finances, there is more work to be done.

Morehouse said, “We have a great team in place, everyone is working together, we are moving in the right direction, and I want to continue to be a part of Utica’s continued transformation.  I humbly ask our residents for their support.”

Morehouse is endorsed by the Democratic, Independence and Working Families Parties.

Republican Ernie Sanita has also announced his candidacy for comptroller.

Election Day is Tuesday, November 7th.
