GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (AP) — Police say a motorcycle driver has died in a fiery crash near Buffalo.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard says the motorcycle collided with another vehicle at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Grand Island. The motorcycle was engulfed in flames when deputies arrived.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim was not immediately identified. The driver of the other vehicle was evaluated at the scene by paramedics.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
