The new head coach of the Utica Comets met with the local media today via conference call.

Travis Green says he's honored and excited to be the team's first head coach.

Green talks more about what type of team he wants to put on the ice.

Green played 14 seasons in the NHL and won a WHL championship last year as head coach of the Portland Winterhawks.

He  played with Comets President Rob Esche in Phoenix.

The Comets will begin play in the AHL in October.
