New York's consumer sentiment has fallen to its lowest level since December of 2011.

That's according to the latest poll by the Siena Research Institute.

New York's overall Index of Consumer Sentiment of 69.6 points is over 3.5 points below the national index.

Buying plans were down in October for consumer electronics, furniture, homes and major home improvements.

Every demographic group dropped in confidence, with women, older residents and those earning over $100,000  taking the largest hits.
