Loudonville, NY (WIBX) - New Yorkers feel a little better about the housing market, according to a recent study from the Siena Research Institute.

Overall sentiment rose 5.3 points this quarter, but remain nearly seven points below the break even point, where buyers and sellers both feel comfortable. Gains can be attributed to a 15.9 point jump in the New York City suburbs.

Upstate, gains were more tempered. Overall and future sentiment rose only three points, but continue making gains.

Officials with the Institute say while it remains a great time to buy, buyers are losing the advantage they used to have over sellers.
