A fugitive from justice is in custody awaiting extradition to North Carolina on more than a dozen felony warrants.

26-Year-old Alexander R. Watros of Mexico, New York was arrested after being located on September 6, 2015.

The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations at North Syracuse located Watros in the Town of Salina.  Authorities say Watros has thirteen felony warrants issued by Iredell County Court in North Carolina.

Charges include the following:

  • statutory rape
  • kidnapping (second degree)
  • indecent liberties
  • solicitation of a child by way of a computer

According to a written release Watros was arraigned the Town of Salina Court and sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail to await extradition proceedings.

The New York State Police Computer Crime Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, and the Mooresville (North Carolina) Police Department worked together on the investigation.
