Ivan Nova helped the Yankees put the team's opening weekend struggles in Tampa behind them as the pinstripes picked up their first win of the year, 6-2, over the Orioles in Baltimore Monday night.

Nova (1-0) allowed ten hits in his seven innings of work but allowed just two runs

Mark Texeira started the scoring in the first inning with an RBI single to score Derek Jeter.

Matt Wieters's second inning solo blast tied things at 1-1.

The Yanks scored three times in the fourth inning with RBI's from Russ Martin and Eduardo Nunez, before Jeter drove in Martin with a double, one of four hits on the night.

Andruw Jones added a solo-homer in the sixth, and Brett Gardner had an RBI single in the seventh

Freddy Garcia is scheduled to start Tuesday night against Wei-Yin Chen, who is making his Major League debut.
