Oneida County Boat Heading To Western Fire Department

Western, NY (WIBX) - County Executive Anthony Picente and County Sherriff Robert Maciol announced last week that Oneida County would be donating a used boat to the Town of Western Fire Department.

The boat will be used by the fire department in rescue situations on Delta Lake.

Western Fire Chief Michael Anania thanks says each year there is an increase in the number of vacationers to the lake.

The addition of the boat will increase the fire departments ability to serve the visiting public, as well as year-round residents of the area.

Picente said the transfer shows there are creative ways to fill the needs of the community without spending taxpayer’s money.
