The Oneida County Child Advocacy Center has a new Chief Deputy.

Sheriff Rob Maciol has announced the appointment of Michael Purdy to the position.

Purdy joins the Oneida County Sheriff's Office after a 20 year career with the City of Norwich Police Department.

He served in the Patrol Division and as an Investigator with the Narcotics Unit and was also assigned to the Chenango County Child Advocacy Center.

Purdy replaces former Chief Deputy Joseph Lisi, who was recently promoted to Oneida County Undersheriff.
